Yeti Chocolates started out back in the fall of 2006 as a side project for me. I recently finished culinary school and thought I wanted to work in fancy restaurants creating beautiful plated desserts, but after working in the industry at a fancy restaurant in downtown Portland, realized creating plated desserts, and plating desserts during dinner service are two very different things. I started working an office job just to try it out, but quickly realized that I missed doing things “culinary”.
I had always enjoyed dabbling in chocolates, even when I was a kid, so one night decided that I would give chocolates a shot, and Yeti Chocolates was born.
I’ve had great success with this side project for the last 5 years that I hope to turn it into a full blown company by the time I’m 30, which is rapidly coming to knock on my door. Hopefully I’ll be ready to take the plunge when it gets here.
I hope you all enjoy reading about the evolution of Yeti Chocolates and it’s metamorphoses from side project to business.
Please feel free to let me know what you think of the site, what I should change and what needs to stay the same, and thanks for your interest!
